The first private college of medicine in Jequié is located in the São Judas Tadeu neighborhood, in Cidade Sol, in the southwestern region of Bahia—more specifically, in the Médio Rio de Contas region.

Every day, UnexMED Jequié welcomes students from Jaguaquara, Jitaúna, Itagi, Ipiaú, Amargosa, Tanhaçu, Itajuru, Belo Campo, Ubatã, Vitória da Conquista, Itiruçu, Santana, Maracás, Apuarema, Aiquara, Laje, Irajuba, Candeias, Gandu, Manoel Vitorino, and Nova Ibiá.

All of these cities already benefit from the College of Excellence. Established in 2024 in the São Judas Tadeu neighborhood, the medical program earned—in its first year—a top rating from the MEC.

In 2025, students from other states in the Northeast and Southeast regions of the country also began attending the institution, thanks to FIES and PROUNI, which gave them the opportunity to fulfill their dream of studying medicine.
